My Goodness started as a vegan pop up cafe in Cork city centre in Feburary 2014. It was open three days a week in The Other Place, Cork’s LGBT resource center. The cafe focused on alternative diets and specific dietary needs offering gluten free, sugar free and raw options. Every Friday a three course 'Some Like it Hot, Some Like it Raw' set menu was prepared focusing on different cuisine from all over the world. This offered people the opportunity to experience something completely new. It also kept the chef's creative juices flowing as she continuously presented traditional dishes in a completely new way. Seasonal vegetables shaped the menus and the only thing that remained the same was the vegan, gluten and sugar free element to the food.
There was a vegan brunch menu every Sunday and on wet and windy days the stove was lit
Every Friday and Monday there was a lunch menu based on what seasonal vegetables were available
The cafe had 6 happy months of service until a fire (started by roofers fixing a leak in the roof) meant that the cafe had to close its doors in July.
There are plans for a new My Goodness cafe to open in the future.
